Syrah 2006

As many of our earliest club members may recall, upon opening we did produce a very small amount of 100% Syrah that was a tasting room favorite. With so many people asking about that Syrah, we decided to put together another small bottling of the varietal that is such an integral part of our popular blend, Maximus. With less than 200 cases produced, this is truly a limited production wine.   The wine displays aromas of dense ripe blueberry and subtle notes of violet, cedar and white pepper.  On the palate, bright fruit flavors of black cherry and blueberry pie lead to a long layered finish and elegant firm tannins.  This is truly an excepeional Syrah from start to finish.  92 Points Wine Spectator.  - "A rich, powerful, tight and focused expression of Syrah, with full-bodied berry, dried currant, pepper, spice, herb and sage, all woven together in a tight thread, ending with a complex aftertaste.
